Baby Raccoon formula
1/2 cup Esbilac
2 cups cool boiled water
16 drops of Zymadrops vitamin supplement
Blend well then store in refrigerator
Feed about every 2 hours for small baby, 24 hours a day. Burp after every feeding they need it just like you would a human baby, Baby raccoons must have bowel and bladder movement gently stroke tummy and groin until you get results. A baby will die without this movement.
FEEDING SCHEDULE (APPROXIMATIONS)
Birth to 1 week: 4-6 cc every 2 hours and once through the night.
1-2 weeks: 6-8 cc every 2 hours and once through the night.
2-3 weeks: 15-30 cc every 3 hours.
3-4 weeks: 50-60 cc every 3-4 hours.
4-8 weeks: 60 cc every 4 hours.
When babies are about 5 to 6 weeks old, they love bits of lean ground beef, and later on bones with bits of meat on them and dog biscuits. Young raccoons will reject the bottle when it no longer needs it and will then be given three meals a day solid food, all it will eat each feeding.

Very small babies feed every 2 hours
Blind at medium speed twenty seconds then refrigerator. Warm small amounts as needed, always sterilize bottles or dropper. Do not use vitamin drops with this formula could cause diarrhea. About two weeks after eyes open, make a thin gruel, by adding baby oatmeal cereal to the formula, feed three times a day with the bottle.
Gradually thicken oatmeal mix, after three to four weeks try feeding with a spoon, continuing with formula bottle feeding. The belly and groin has to be stroked after feeding to encourage elimination, same as with racoons.
When babies are about six weeks old they take about 1/2 ounce or more at a feeding. Drop the night feeding. Feed just befor you go to bed, and in the morning as soon as you get up.
First solid food is given when babies start nibbling at things. Treat with small slices of apple, dry toast, and dog biscuits for starters.
When they start eating these foods good, add sunflower seeds. when squirrels adapt to the solid food they will refuse the bottle and will no longer need the formula.

Most young song birds and garden birds
If you are confused, of the kind of bird it is here is a good diet, to use for most baby song and garden birds.
1/2 cup medicated turkey starter
1 drop Zymadrops vitamin supplement
1 25 mg. tablet of vitamin B1, crushed
Moisten with warm water
Vitamin B1 is very important, even more so with baby mockingbirds. Without it they will get a condition a lot like rickets and will lose the use of their legs. They can die without it. You can get Vitamin B1 at any drugstore. Medicated turkey starter you can get at feed stores. Turkey starter is used, instead of chicken started, because it is higher in protein, and wild birds have a higher protein diet than domestic birds.
Mix until moist sticky enough to pick up on the end of a small stick. Very small birds need a moister mixture so there will not become dehydrated. Put the food on the end of the stick and well back in the baby's throat to trigger the swallowing reflex.
Do not feed the baby's with a medicine dropper, it very well could strangle the baby or get pneumonia. Do not give it any other liquids. Baby's get all their water from the water in their food mixture.
Very tiny babies, should be fed every 15 minutes all day long. Larger birds every 20 minutes.
When the young baby bird starts hopping around, its time ti move them to a cage. The baby should be well feathered and this time and will need no more heat. Soon it will start pecking at the stick. Then the baby bird will soon start to eat and drink on its own, but keep up the hand feeding until your sure it is completely self feeding.
When feeding on its own, change to a mixture of soaked Gaines Meal with chopped up fruit added.
Soak Gaines Meal in water about 10 minutes, as in making emergency infant formula. Drain off excess water. Sprinkle with a vitamin mineral supplement sold at pet shops. Add finely chopped apple and soaked raisins. Soak dark raisins in cold water over night drain them before using them mix well. This is a good diet for most adult song and garden birds. You can also add chopped grapes or banana or some birds love oranges. Keep fresh food in front of the bird at all times.
Remember when feeding a baby bird, us common sense how much you feed them, they will often keep eating long after they had more than is good for them.
Emergency Infant Bird Diet, if turkey starter is not available
1/4 cup Gaines Meal dry dog food
2 drops Zymadrops vitamin supplement
1 25-mg. tablet vitamin B1, crushed
Soak the Gaines Meal in lukewarm water about tn minutes. Drain off liquid. Mix in Zymadrops and B1. Feed as directed for turkey starter mixture.
Baby birds must be feed every 15 minutes, more or less during the day hours. Keep birds especially the tiny unfeathered ones in a small bowl, with a light bulb attached to the side for warmth. A standard 7 1/2 bulb work good like the ones used for reading lights. Line the bowl with paper towls.
Before feeding try to determine, the kind of bird it is if possible, most baby birds look a lot alike, you can identify some of them by their open mouth, size and shape of the beak.The mouth of baby blue jay is bright red inside, and the dark bill is long about 3 times longer than the sparrrow. The mocking bird has a fairly long bill, and wider mouth than the blue jay. The bill is slender, and lined in a bright yellow, inside the mouth is also yellow.
The starling has a long and slender bill, so does the mocking bird, but the inside of the mouth of the starling is pink. The sparrow has a small bill with a yellow mouth.

Doves and Pigeons
Diet for infant pigeons and doves is the same as for song and garden birds.
1/2 cup medicated turky starter
1 drop Zymadrops
1 25-mg. vitamin B1 tablet
crushed and mix with lukewarm water, the difference it should be soupy. Instead of a stick to feed them, use a modified plastic dropper by cutting the end off a plastic medicine dropper with a knife. This makes a wide mouth dropper easy to fill with the soupy food.
The baby's bill is poked gently into the end of the dropper. Keeping a gentle pressure on the dropper bulb will push the food at the baby's bill. The baby will suck the food like it does the parents pigeon milk from the mother's throat.. Keep a gentle pressure up so the food will be constant at the end of the dropper, do not rush the baby or drown it in food til it gets the idea.
Baby pigeons and doves are fed every twenty minutes during daylight hours. As they get larger, time between feedings get longer.
Continue the hand feeding until they are self feeding.Three to four weeks before they give up the suckling. When baby is eating dry food, add some wild birdseed and fine chicken scratch.
When eating good the cage door is left open so they can fly away.
